Just because something is old, doesn’t mean you throw it away. The Minolta Rokkor-x 50mm f/1.4 is a remarkable lens 40+ years after it was made. For under $100 you can find a nifty fifty lens that truly is nifty.
The Sony 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 is a very underrated lens, usually taking a back seat to its 70-200G/GM brethren. I don’t think it’s fair to write this versatile lens off as such and I state my case for why I think, pound for pound, this may be one of Sony’s best overall offerings if you’re looking for a telephoto zoom.
